This week, a "Survivor" classic element returned for the contestants of Season 47: The "Survivor" auction.
Like all things in the new era of the long-running reality competition show on CBS, the auction had a twist. Tubes filled with differing amounts of money were hidden all over camp on the island where the players live, and they had to race to search and find them. At the auction, host Jeff Probst drew a hidden number from a bag determining how many items would be shown, and the player with the most money left would lose their vote at tribal council.
Items in the auction episode, titled "He's All That," included macaroni and cheese, French fries with a hidden advantage, chicken wings and a grub-eating contest in order to win a breakfast spread.
And like every "Survivor" episode, a player was eventually voted out and sent home.
Here's who was voted out in "Survivor" Season 47, Episode 8.

Who went home on 'Survivor' Season 47, Episode 7?
Sam Phalen had no vote going into the individual immunity challenge after being the player with the most money left at the end of the auction. Before the challenge, which had players holding a bucket with 25% of their pregame body weight up on a rope, host Jeff Probst announced that one man and one woman would walk away with an individual immunity necklace, leaving the remaining nine players vulnerable to being voted out.
For the third episode in a row, Kyle Ostwald won for the men. Sue Smey, the oldest player this season, won for the women.
Players in various alliances went back and forth on who to vote out, including former Gata tribe member and alliance member Andy Rueda, who flipped on Phalen and Sierra Wright to align with the majority.

At tribal council, another former Gata tribe member Rachel LaMont played her shot in the dark (losing her vote in order to chance immunity, which she did not receive), and the votes were tied between voting either Phalen or Wright out.
During a revote, a majority of players chose to vote out Wright, making her the first member of the Season 47 jury, which will eventually decide on the winner.
Who went home last week on 'Survivor'?
During the immunity and reward challenge, contestants were divided into two groups, with Probst telling players that only one of the teams would be safe. The last player remaining would win immunity for their group, while the other group would visit tribal council and vote someone out.
The yellow group won the challenge and consisted of: Sol Yi, Sam Phalen, Andy Rueda, Teeny Chirichillo and Genevieve Mushaluk. The blue group, which lost, was made up of: Sue Smey, Rachel LaMont, Gabe Ortis, Caroline Vidmar, Tiyana Hallums and Kyle Ostwald. Ostwald did win individual immunity, giving him safety in the game.
The two groups were separated as the blue group prepared to cast votes at tribal council. While at the reward, Yi found an advantage hidden near the food, which allowed him to send it to a player on the group casting votes. Yi sent the advantage, which allowed safety without casting a vote, to LaMont, the lone player in the group not on the former Lavo tribe and the obvious target.
This sent the tribal council into a tailspin as the remaining players scrambled on who to vote out. Ultimately, a majority voted for Tiyana Hallums, a 27-year-old flight attendant from Oahu, Hawaii.
